The kit comes with organic seedlings of leafy greens, herbs, and microgreens, curated for seasonal growth. Specific varieties vary by region and time of year.

Keep your local climate in mind—cold climates require you to wait until night temperatures are consistently in the 40s, while hot Summer climates may require growing heat-tolerant plants like tomatoes, peppers, basil, mint, and rosemary.

If you live in extreme Winter climates, you can bring your greens & herbs indoors and grow next to a window with direct sunlight. You may need a grow light to provide supplemental lighting.

To find out what extreme temperatures your location experiences, check out the USDA zone for your region.

With the purchase of the Seasonal Garden kit, you can grow ~ 4 pounds of leafy greens and lettuce MONTHLY during peak growing season.

How did we calculate that?

  • Most heads of lettuce and leafy greens weigh in at 10-12 ounces.
  • Your kit comes with 6 organic seedlings.
  • It takes 2-4 weeks to get to the harvesting phase

You don't have to wait to harvest, we encourage grazing leaves regularly as soon as you as there are at least 3 mature leaves (4-5" long).

Generally, fast-growing plants like leafy greens and herbs will be ready for harvest within 4 to 6 weeks. Microgreens are even quicker, typically they are ready for harvest within 5 days of germinating seeds.

You'll be guided on harvest timing based on the maturity of your plants. Signs such as leaf size or flower formation are key indicators. Planted Places provides ongoing support to help with this.

With regular care, you can enjoy a continuous harvest throughout the growing season.

You’ll receive detailed gardening guides, tutorials, and seasonal cooking tips to help you make the most of your kit.

We provide tips and quick video tutorials each week for the first 6 weeks to get you to harvest successfully.

Subscribers get access to a private VIP portal that provides seasonal guidance and expert training tutorials.

Once you reach final harvest, you will have the option to replace seedlings with a custom selection of seedlings or a seasonal variety at a discounted rate.

You can also place your seeding delivery on automatic refill with the option to choose the types of plants you want to receive and the frequency (4, 6, 8 or 12 week intervals). Options to receive an ongoing delivery of nutrient rich soil and planting service are also available.

Yes! If you prefer to choose your own seedlings, simply select the "Custom Selection" button above.

You will then receive a follow-up email that will be provide a link to choose your own seedling preference.

While growing food is optimized for outdoor use, they can thrive indoors if they receive enough light. Placing them near a window that has direct light and supplementing with a grow light will suffice. Air flow is also helpful to ensure healthy plants.
